Calculate my calf size

Measuring your calves

Step 1: Grab a tape measure, some string or a ruler and sit down.

Step 2: Wrap the tape measure around the widest part of your calf without leaving any spaces. Measure both of your calves and use the larger of the two measurements to order your boots with.

Step 3: Do you often wear leggings or stockings? Then add 0.5 inches to your calf width. Or do you mostly wear jeans or trousers with your boots? Then add 1 inch to your calf size.

Note: It is important to measure both calves and use the larger of the two measurements when ordering. That way, you can be sure that your boots will fit. It is also important to consider that when you wear heels, your calf changes shape when your heel is up high. So in this instance make sure that you measure your calves with your heel raised to a similar height as the boot heel to ensure a more accurate sizing.

What's important to remember while measuring?

Measuring your calf accurately

It is of great importance that you measure your calves accurately, only then will we be able to offer you the right size. If you really aren't sure whether you measured the widest part of your foot, we recommend moving your hand along the back of your calf. By doing this, you can feel the contours of your leg, which can give you a better idea for where to take the measurement. You can also always ask someone else to help you measure.

How shall I wear my boots?

It is also very important when you're determining your calf size that you take into consideration how you're going to wear your boots. If you mostly wear boots with a skirt and tights, then you don't need to add anything to your measurement. However, if you often wear thicker socks or leggings, then you should add 0.5 inches to your calf size. If you would rather wear trousers with your boots, you should add 1 inch to your measurement. It is also important to remember that leather is a natural material and will stretch over time.

Extra tips

Boots for small or wide ankles

If you have small or wide ankles, it can often be a pain to find boots that fit. The ankle size of many boots on our website vary according to shoe size, calf size and the model of the boot. In most cases, we are able to find the best fit for your feet in one try. However, if you find that your ankles are particularly small or wide in relation to your calves, then get in contact with our customer service before placing an order. There they can advise you about the make and model of boots that are best for you!

Boot length

If you are quite tall, it can also sometimes be difficult to find boots with the right length. It is often the case that they only reach the middle of your calf and you can't get them on properly. Our boots are made with a 'grading' principle, so to speak. That means that the larger the shoe size, the longer the boot will be. Boot length is also adjusted with the length of the foot, so that balance ratio is maintained.
